Bajura, Sept. 11: Schools in all nine local levels of Bajura district have resumed classes in physical presence of teachers and students.
All schools in Bajura were closed in April after the second wave of coronavirus started affecting life across the country.
After the number of coronavirus infections dropped to zero in the district, the local governments decided to run teaching-learning activities in physical presence.
According to the District Administration Office, Bajura, schools have resumed classes after the lifting of the restriction order in the district.

Gopal Kumar Adhikari, Chief District Officer, said they gave permission to operate schools by adopting safety measures. “All private and community schools in the district have been asked to resume educational activities in physical presence,” he said.
Although the schools were told to resume educational activities adopting alternative ways of teaching from July, they could not be effective as many students do not have access to technology for alternative classes, Adhikari said.

He said that the classes would be allowed to operate continuously if the teaching-learning activities are found satisfactory and reliable after reviewing the preparations made by the schools.
Meanwhile, Malangawa Municipality of Sarlahi has asked schools of its area to resume classes in physical presence by adopting health protocols.

Nirsal Shah, head of the municipality, said they asked schools to manage the provisions of hand washing, physical distancing, mask and sanitizers prior to resuming classes.
After getting permission from the municipality, schools in Lalbandi, Hariban, Ishworpur and Barhathwa have resumed their classes physically.

Students were excited as they could go to schools after a long time. Schools having large numbers of students are inviting them on alternative days and those having fewer students have invited all students every day. Meanwhile, Gulmidarbar Rural Municipality in Gulmi district has implemented local curriculum from grade 1 to grade 3 from this academic year.

Laxmi Pandey, chief administrative officer of the rural municipality, informed that the rural municipality has planned to implement local curriculum up to grade eight, but, it has implemented the curriculum up to grade three in the first phase.

In the curriculum, it has included local heritage, economic and technological activities, social norms and values of the municipality. Likewise, it has also included life skill, health, environment, sanitation, infrastructure and disaster.

Religious, cultural and other features of the municipality are also included in the curriculum.
