Tulsipur, Jan 6: Coronavirus infection has been confirmed in students and teachers of three schools in Tulsipur.
The infection was found in some students and teachers at Aswara Secondary School at Tulsipur-8 and at the Rapti Children's Academy and the Janata Sanskrit Secondary School at Tulsipur-6.
Public Health Inspector at the Tulsipur Sub-metropolis, Public Health Promotion Section, Bimal KC said three coronavirus infection cases were confirmed at Aswara. He said six students and five teachers were found infected at Sustashrawan. Similarly, the infection is confirmed in two students at Rapti Children's Academy and one female teacher at Janata Sanskrit Secondary School.
The swab samples collected from them has been sent to the National Health Laboratory in Kathmandu to check whether or not it was Omicron variant infection, KC said, adding the report of the tests was expected on Sunday.
The Aswara Secondary School has been closed for a week after the detection of the infection in students and teachers.
Public Health Inspector KC has urged the local government to take precautions and adopt health safety measures in view of the new cases. He also shared that six health workers at the Metro Hospital and two sub-metropolis employees were also found infected.
