Kathmandu, April 14 : The Ganeshman Singh Study Foundation has constituted a study committee to suggest on relief and economy promotion package declaration and distribution in the context of the economic impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country.
The committee is chaired by Foundation Chair and former Minister for Industry, Nabindra Raj Joshi.
The committee will carry out a study on the impact of coronavirus pandemic on different sectors of the economy and the type of impact on each sector. It will also present suggestions and recommendations regarding the upcoming economic policy in the context of the COVID-19 impact to the government on the basis of the study and analysis carried out by various economists and planners.
The committee comprises National Planning Commission (NPC) former vice chairs Prithvi Raj Ligal, Dr Jagadish Chandra Pokharel, Prof Dr Govinda Raj Pokharel and Dr Swornim Wagle, and NPC former members Prof Dr Pushkar Bajracharya and Dr Arabinda Mishra.
Similarly, the other members include Tribhuvan University professor Dr Bijaya Shrestha, Foundation member Dr Dadhi Adhikari, Nepal Trade Union Congress senior vice-president Mahendra Yadav and and Bhaktapur Multiple Campus professor Dr Basanti Acharya.
