Tanahu, Nov 15 (RSS):
The number of people acquiring the cottage and small industry registration is increasing in Tanahu. The rise was due to a mandatory provision for obtaining the PAN.
Inland Revenue Office's data shows that in a period of first three and half months of the current fiscal year (begun on July 17), 1,479 industries were registered. Of them, 744 registrations are towards cottage and 734 towards the commerce.
A total of 2,605 enterprises were registered last fiscal year. The figure of the first three and half months is encouraging and it was more than the number in the corresponding period last year, the Office said. Till October 16, the Office collected revenue of over Rs 4.6 million from the registration.
Of the registered industries, some 60 percent mentioned women as its owners.
A discount provision in the fees for registration in the name of women, dalits, and those pushed into backwards due to several reasons has been in force since last March and the provision has encouraged the registration in the name of people from such communities, it is said.
The discount on registration fee for an industry with the capital of up to Rs 10 million is Rs 200. The Office holds the right of registering industry having the capital of up to Rs 50 million.
