Gorkha, Nov 7 : Reconstruction of earthquake-affected 287 schools in Gorkha has been completed.
Baburam Devkota, engineer at District Project Implementation Unit (Education) under the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA), shared rebuild of school was gaining momentum in Gorkha in the aftermath of 2015 earthquake.
"The deadly earthquake had affected total 419 schools in the district", he said, adding, "The reconstruction of school buildings is taking place based on priority".
He further informed toilet construction was completed in 70 schools of the district under the programme in the last fiscal year.
So far, 287 school buildings among the affected structures have been rebuilt in Gorkha, he shared. "Among the reconstructed, 120 schools still are lacking classrooms'.
Preparation is on to construct additional classrooms in the schools lacking space.
He noted that the target is to complete the reconstruction of the schools in the district this year. Total 65 schools would be reconstructed through National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) in the current fiscal year, he added.
