Karnali, Aug 20 : The State Establishment and Martyrs' Day is being observed in Karnali State today.
The State government has given a public holiday today on this occasion.
Spokesperson of the state government's Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law, Tul Bahadur Khadka said that a Cabinet meeting of the Karnali state government has decided to mark the 4th of Bhadau every year in the Nepali calendar as the State Establishment and Martyrs' Day.
Four persons had attained martyrdom participating in the movement for the establishment of the Karnali State in mid-July to mid-September 2015.
They were Yam Bahadur BC, tikaram Gautam and Gopal Singh Rajwar of Surkhet and Hari Bahadur Kunwar of Jumla.
The then government had announced the four persons killed in course of the movement as martyrs and the movement was concluded after the demand of the establishment of a separate province was fulfilled.
