By TRN Online, Chitwan, July 23: Repair work in the the Mugling-Naubise section of the Prithvi Higway, which has been obstructed since Monday, is going on in full swing to resume the road service by Friday afternoon.
The Mugling-Naubise road section has been obstructed after the landslide swept away part of the Mauwakhola Bridge.
According to Krishnaraj Adhikari, Chief Engineer of Road Division Office, Bharatpur, wing wall is being built at the Mauwakhola since Tuesday morning by diverting the stream’s direction.
As many as 42 workers have been deployed in the construction area and the Nepali Army (NA) personnel are also assisting in the construction, he added.
The equipment required for the construction were brought from Nuwakot, said Adhikari. The transportation service will resume in the area if the rainfall slows down, he added.
About 200 landslides are reported to have fallen along the Prithvi Highway in the last few days when the country witnessed incessant rainfall. The repairment in the highway is being done rapidly as the highway is one of the main entry points to the Kathmandu Valley.
