By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Sept. 1: A prisoner at the central jail here in Sundhara has died of COVID-19.
Drona Pokharel, Director General of Department of Prison Management, confirmed that a 40-year old male serving his terms at the central jail died last night.
The prisoner senteced for murdering family member passed away while under treatment at Lalitpur-based Mega Hospital.
Swab of the prisoner who died was collected on August 26 for PCR test and in the report received on August 30, he was found infected with SARS-CoV-2 that causes COVID-19.
