Kathmandu, Jan 13: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has congratulated Prince Dahal on reaching the top spot in the world rankings for men's junior released by the World Badminton Federation.
Deuba congratulated 19-year-old Dahal through his social media account today and wished him all the best for the future. Dahal has risen to the top for the first time with 10,500 points, according to the Federation's men's junior rankings.
According to the rankings, Justin Hoh of Malaysia is in second with 9,590 points. Similarly, Malaysia's Fajrik Mohammad Rajif is in third place with 6,925 points.
This is the biggest success that a Nepali junior badminton player has achieved in the history of the badminton sport of Nepal. The World Badminton Federation publishes the rankings of junior and senior players from around the world every week.
Dahal is currently a Grade 11 student of Pinnacle College in Lagankhel, Lalitpur.
