Bhairahawa, Nov. 10.

Preparation for the second edition of the Tripitika recitation, going to be held in Lumbini, birthplace of Lord Gautam Buddha, from November 14-16 has completed, informed Maitri Mahathero, Co-ordinator of the Organiser’s committee and chairman of All Nepal Bhikshu Association.

Prior to the recitation, a peace procession will be held on November 11-13, from the Peace Stupa to Ramragam Stupa and Tilaurakot.

The peace walk will be held till Ramgram on the first day, till Lumbini on the second day and till Kapilvastu on the third day, where lamps will be lightened.

The peace walk is going to be held jointly with the chief Bhikshu Sato of Japanese White Stupa, located in Lumbini, with a motive to promote various places of the district.

Inauguration of the recitation will be done by Shankhar Pokharel, Chief Minister of State-5, on the premises of Mayadevi Temple.

Even though Bodhgaya and Kushinagar of India have been hosting Tripitaka recitation since 14 years, Nepal, the birthplace of the Buddha, stared to host the Tripitak recitation since last year.

Him Bahadur Bista, Secretary of the organiser’s committee, said that more than one thousand monks from 25 different countries would participate in the recitation this year.

Tripitak is a summarised scripture of the knowledge given by the Buddha.

The name “Tripitak” is kept after Api Dhammapitak, Suttapitak and Binayapitak.

Tripitak will be recited in Pali, Devnagari and Thai languages.
