Gandaki, July 17: Pokhara Metropolis Mayor Maan Bahadur GC underwent surgery for a stroke at the Kathmandu-based Neuro Hospital.
The 60-year-old people's representative was taken to Kathmandu on Friday after he suffered a stroke due to hypertension. According to Pokhara-13 ward chair Darshan Lama, the stroke has affected the right eye and the front part of the face.
A medical team also comprising neurosurgeon Dr Suraj Thulung and Dr Shrestha was involved in the surgery.
GC, also a central member of the CPN (UML), was rushed to the Pokhara-based Mediplus Hospital at around 4:00 am on Friday as he complained of some bodily discomfort and was referred to the Manipal Teaching Hospital where he was diagnosed with a stroke. Then he was rushed to Kathmandu by helicopter.
Metropolis Spokesperson Dhan Bahadur Nepali and Nepali Congress Kaski President Krishna KC and other several organisations here have wished for a quick recovery of the Mayor.
