Kathmandu, July 30: Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has expressed his sorrow over the demise of former lawmaker Akabar Bahadur Singh. Singh died on Friday at Tilganga Hospital in Kathmandu. He was 90.
"I am saddened by the demise of former lawmaker Akabar Bahadur Singh. I offer my condolence to him while remembering his contribution to the democratic movements of the country. I wish the departed soul rests in peace and I personally and on behalf of my party extend deep heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family," read a message of condolence issued by PM Deuba.
Born in Marma Rural Municipality-5 in Darchula district, Singh won a seat in the House of Representatives in 2048 BS from the NC. He was also actively involved in social work.
