Kathmandu, June 20 : People's representatives of Melamchi municipality-1, Sindhupalchowk have decided to contribute their one months' salary to the flood survivors relief and rehabilitation fund. The meeting on Saturday of the ward committee took a decision to this end, according to ward chair Krishna Prasad Chaulagain.
Accordingly, ward chair Chaulagain will contribute Rs. 26,730 while executive member Sabitri Karki's contribution will be 12,870. Ward members Bhimsen Khatiwada, Khamba Singh Tamang and Shanti Nepal contribute Rs. 9,900 each.
Unprecedented flood water from the Melamchi and Indrawati rivers caused massive loss to life and property in ward nos. 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 of the municipality on June 15 night.
