Damak, Nov. 14: Every citizen should remain dutiful to keep the history and culture of every caste and community alive and vibrant.
Senior leader of the Nepali Congress (NC) and former Speaker Ram Chandra Paudel made this remarks while offering garlands to the statue of renowned Nepali poet late Lekhnath Paudel.
At the programme organised by the Central Committee of Paudel Clan, (Poudel Banshodwar Kendriya Samiti) at Damak-7, Paudel stressed the need for documenting history and contribution of ancestors.
“Investigation and preservation of the facts related to every caste will help in exploring their history,” said Paudel.
Paudel further said that the nation had confronted crisis of higher magnitude lately. “It is high time for all of us to unite together and strive for the progress of the nation,” said Paudel.
We all should rise above our personal interest and work for the benefit of the nation, he added.
Roshan Bista, chairman of NC Damak Municipal Committee, said that leader Paudel had come to Damak to meet and greet the party cadres and for conducting a training programme.
Meanwhile, another leader of NC, Dr. Shekhar Koirala, said that the NC wanted to change its leadership.
Interacting with the party workers in Damak on Thursday morning, Koirala said, “As the party workers aren’t satisfied with the current leadership of the NC, it is necessary to change the leadership.”
The leadership should now be on the hands of youths, he said and stressed the need of keeping the party workers active.
“The NC cannot move forward if it continues to undertake its tasks in old ways, which is why all of us should be able to bring about changes among ourselves,” said Koirala.
Stressing on the need of changing the style of party functioning, Koirala said that the NC was now focusing on reinvigorating it.
