Kathmandu, June 8: The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST) has formed a taskforce to recommend suggestions on the newly prepared curriculum of Grade 11 by the Curriculum Development Centre (CDC) under the MoEST.
A meeting of the Curriculum Council headed by Minister for Education, Science and Technology Giriraj Mani Pokharel Saturday decided to form the taskforce under the coordination of Prof. Dr. Lekhnath Sharma, member of the Council, said Puran KC, secretary of Minister Pokharel.
The Council formed the taskforce to submit the report as per the feedback received from the stakeholders.
According to the Council, the draft of the new curriculum of 32 subjects of Grade 11 will be kept on the website of the CDC for a week to get feedback from the concerned stakeholders.
The Council will introduce the new 32 subjects as per the feedback received through the taskforce.
Earlier, the Council had approved other 48 subjects of Grade 11. According to the Council, 99 subjects will be taught in Grade 11.
Likewise, the Council also formed another taskforce to prepare the same curriculum for technical education of Centre for Education and Human Resource Development (CEHRD) and the Council for Technical Education and Vocation Training (CTEVT).
The meeting of Saturday formed the taskforce coordinated by Keshav Dahal, director general of the CDC, with a target to merge both technical courses.
Now, the CEHRD has been running technical classes from Grade IX to XII in many streams whereas the CTEVT has also been running similar types of courses for those who have completed Secondary Education Examination (SEE).
