Kathmandu, Sept. 22: Ambassador of Nepal to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Tapas Adhikari called on Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan in Islamabad on Tuesday.
During the call on, Ambassador Adhikari conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba as well as from the people of Nepal for the personal health and happiness of the Prime Minister of Pakistan and continued progress and prosperity of friendly people of Pakistan.
The Prime Minister asked the Ambassador to convey his greetings and best wishes to the Prime Minister of Nepal and people of Nepal for their continued progress and prosperity.
Ambassador Adhikari expressed that the bilateral relations between Nepal and Pakistan have always been cordial based on goodwill, mutual trust and cooperation. He further said that both the countries are founding members of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) and hold similar views on SAARC, United Nations and other important international forums. He further expressed Nepal’s desire for a deeper relationship with Pakistan and said he would make sincere efforts to further enhance bilateral relations between Nepal and Pakistan.
He briefed the recent political development and COVID-19 situation in Nepal to the Pakistani Prime Minister. He also thanked the Government and the people of Pakistan for their continued support to Nepal and in particular recent material and financial support to Nepal to fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
Ambassador Adhikari also appreciated the Prime Minister for his vision to promote tourism in Pakistan and shared Nepal’s interest to work with Pakistan to promote tourism since both countries have high potentiality of cultural and adventure tourism.
While recalling his personal visit to Nepal before joining politics, the Prime Minister said that Pakistan was always ready to work with Nepal to further promote bilateral relations between our two countries. During the call on, Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood and high official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan were present.
