Khalanga, Feb. 13: Nearly 85 percent of eligible people from all eight local levels of Jumla district have been vaccinated against COVID-19. Information officer at District Public Health Office Prem Bahadur Sarki shared that 69,332 persons got vaccinated against COVID-19 in the district.
Among them, 45,488 persons got full doses, while 2,088 got booster doses. Most of the vaccinated are from Chandannath Municipality.
In the municipality, 25,993 persons received the vaccines.
Meanwhile, the District Administration Office, Jumla has provided Rs 100 thousand to each family of those losing lives to COVID-19. The families of 22 persons who died from COVID-19 were distributed the monetary assistance from the provincial disaster management fund of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law at Karnali Province, according to CDO Bijaya Kumari Prasai.
Jumla did not record any death from coronavirus in the first wave while it recorded 22 fatalities in the second wave.
