Kathmandu, April 1 : Over Rs 223 million has been deposited so far in the Coronavirus Infection Prevention and Treatment Fund established by the government on March 23 in view of the increased risk of the virus.
Spokesperson at the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Minister Rajendra Kumar Poudel said the assistance amount was being deposited in the Fund on a daily basis. ''More than Rs 223 million has been contributed to the Fund since its establishment.''
The Confederation of Nepalese Industries deposited Rs 5 million on Tuesday. The government has called on lawmakers, employees and business community to contribute to the Fund.
It may be noted that President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, National Assembly Ganesh Prasad Timilsina has already provided their one month's salary to the Fund.
