Surkhet, April 15 : The Surkhet Police on Tuesday evening arrested a person on the charge of spreading unnecessary rumours about the coronavirus on Facebook.
The alleged is Dharmaraj Acharya of Kalunchowk of Birendranagar-8, the District Police Office, Surkhet said.
In his Facebook status he wrote,'' Coronavirus was seen in Surkhet, it is yet to be confirmed''. According to District Police Office's information officer Gopal Rayamajhi, the accused is under investigation.
Similarly, the police are searching for one Facebook user named Prem Bibas for writing 'coronavirus was seen on one at Lekbeshi municipality-1'. State Health Directorate Surkhet lab in-charge Om Acharya said no COVID-19 has been found yet in the Karnali State.
