Kathmandu, Feb 8: The share market on Tuesday witnessed a double-digit decline closing at 2835.58 points. According to Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse), the share market suffered a loss by 16.30 points. The Nepse said the sensitive index of big companies arrived at 532.49 points after a loss of 2.82 points.
Despite the decline in the Nepse index, the amount of total transactions slightly increased compared to Monday.
On Tuesday, a total of 12 million-plus shares of 230 companies were traded at Rs 6.28 billion. With this, the market capitalization reached Rs 4007.72 billion.
The Nepse said five sub-categories noticed an increase in the share market while eight others lost. Of the total 13 sub-categories, categories of trade gained by 2.68 points, hotel and tourism by 3.74 points, non-life insurance by 56.22 points, production by 27.54 points and mutual investment fund by 0.08 points.
On the basis of transactions, Arun Valley Hydropower Company was in the top list with transactions of more than Rs 358.5 million followed by Api Power Company.
