Nepal tests 610 COVID-19 samples

Kathmandu, Mar. 25: The number tested COVID-19 cases in Nepal reached 610, according to the Situation Report (SitRep) of Tuesday evening issued by the Health Emergency Operation Centre (HEOC) within the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
Of the total 610 tested cases in Nepal, 608 have tested negative, with two positive, and one of the patients has already recovered.
The other and the second case is of a 19-year-old Nepali female who had recently returned to Nepal from France via Doha in Qatar on March 17, as was shared at the Monday’s press conference at MoHP.
She had been in home quarantine since her arrival in Nepal and since testing positive on Sunday, she has been kept in isolation at Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital (STIDH) in Teku.
According to the latest global figures, COVID-19 has now spread in 189 countries; with 3,329,30 confirmed cases; with 14510 deaths as of March 23, lists the SitRep.
COVID-19 hotline, Viber group and call center set up
The MoHP has set up a COVID-19 Call Center with a dedicated toll free number 1115.
It has also provided dedicated hotline number of 1115, and three mobile numbers of NTC (98512-255834, 98512-255837, 98512-255839) for people to call between 8am to 8pm for information pertaining to prevention and treatment.
The MoHP/HEOC has also launched its official viber community to disseminate the latest news and genuine information about COVID-19. Anyone can search for ‘MoHP Nepal COVID-19’ on viber and join the messaging group, according to the HEOC SitRep.
In the meantime, additional resources on COVID-19 can be accessed via MoHP/HEOC (heoc.mohp.gov.np/) and EDCD (edcd.gov.np/) web portals.
