By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Feb. 27: C.P. Mainali, General Secretary of Nepal Communist Party (Marxist-Leninist) and former Deputy Prime Minister, has been seriously injured in a car accident today.
Mainali's car with registration no. Ba 4 Cha 2120 had collided with a pick-up van with registration no. Na 4 Kha 7668 at Ratu bridge, informed Madhav Prasad Budhathoki, Deputy Superintendent of Police, cheif at the District Police Office, Mahottari.
Mainali, along with his family were en route to Kathmandu from Mahottari.
Mainali has sustained serious injuries in his right leg and head.
DSP Budhathoki informed that injured Mainali would be sent to Kathmandu for further treatment.
Condition of Mainali’s son, daughter-in-law and grandson is normal and the police is preparing to refer them to Kathmandu after completion of preliminary treatment at Bardibas-based Janasewa Hospital.
