Kathmandu, July 16 : The entrepreneurs and labourers from the public transport sector have urged Chairman of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' to take initiatives to resolve the problems transport sector facing in the country during the time of pandemic coronavirus infection.
At a meeting with Chairman Prachanda this morning, the entrepreneurs sought for Dahal's role to help troubleshoot public transport sector's current problems.
The entrepreneurs of the public transport sector have asked the government for the provision to halt the loan repayment installment to banks and financial institutions and ensure them the provision of refinancing. Other demands include facilitation for documents renewal, regular health checkups to the labourers, government's contribution to the corona virus insurance scheme and others.
During the meeting, Chairman Prachanda assured the businesspersons to immediately resume the public transport by making policies for the long-term, according to general secretary of Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs Association Saroj Sitaula.
On Wednesday, the entrepreneurs met with former Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba over the same issue.
