Kathmandu, Jan 29 : The second central committee meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has commenced at the Rashtriya Sabha Griha (City Hall) today.
Prime Minister and party chair KP Sharma Oli and another chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' have been presiding over the meeting that is taking place after one and half years since the unification of the then CPN (UML) and CPN (Maoist) to form the NCP.
Prime Minister and party chair Oli is delivering his inaugural address to the meeting at present.
In the meeting, he would also be talking about the works and achievements of the government so far. Media has also been allowed in the inauguration session.
The party's standing committee meeting from December 15 to 22 had decided to convene the central committee meeting having completed the works related to the party unification.
PM and party chair Oli and another chair Dahal are scheduled to present a common political report in the meeting. Likewise, separate proposals related to statute amendment, plan for conducting national campaign and contemporary topics will be presented in the meeting.
