Kathmandu, May 21 : Major opposition Nepali Congress (NC) has summoned a meeting of its central office-bearers and former office-bearers to discuss the country’s latest political developments.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at party President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence in Budhanilkantha at 9:00 this morning.
Chief Secretary of NC central office Krishna Prasad Poudel said that discussions would be held on the press statement released from the Office of the President for the call to form the government as per the Article 76 (5) of the Constitution of Nepal.
On Thursday, President Bidya Devi Bhandari called upon the Members of Parliament (MPs) to submit their claim for the premiership till 5:00 pm today to appoint the Prime Minister as per the Article 76 (5) of the Constitution of Nepal.
However, NC has termed the President Office’s statement on formation of government as per the Article 76 (5) as unconstitutional and undemocratic.
