Kathmandu, Sept 21 : The Nepali Congress is holding ward conventions as part of its 14th general convention in seven districts today.
The districts to have the ward conventions are Sindhupalchowk, Kavrepalanchowk, Kathmandu, Bajura, Kapilvastu, Bardiya and Morang, according to coordinator of NC central election committee, Mahadev Prasad Yadav.
The party had earlier fixed the ward convention date today for 20 districts. But, the details on distribution of active membership are yet to come from remaining 13 districts.
The NC had already held the ward convention in 57 districts. The ward level election had begun since September 3.
Yadav further said 13 districts to furnish details on active membership are Surkhet, Dolpa, Rasuwa, Rupandehi and Kailali and eight districts from Province-2. The convention would be held after the details are received.
It is said the NC has some 900 thousand active members. The active members elect ward committee and area committee.
The NC has a fresh schedule for rural and municipality convention on September 25, area convention in province on September 28 and district convention with single constituency district on October 1.
The central general convention of the party is scheduled for November 25-29.
