Bhadgoan, Nov 30 : Durlabh Thapa has been elected Bhaktapur district president of Nepali Congress. It is his reelection to the post.
In the district convention held as part of the 14th national convention of the party, Thapa secured 555 votes while his nearest contender Asta Kumar Kanwe got 442 votes.
Similarly, Bijesh Awal (559) and Urmila Ban (514) become vice-presidents from Thapa's panel. Similarly, Sushil Basnet and Rajesh Khadka have been elected secretaries while Yadav Prasad Adhikari and Krishna Murari Neupane became joint secretaries.
Moreover, in Baglung district, Jit Bahadur Sherchan has been elected district president of NC. He secured 818 votes against his contender Jagdish Chandra Upadhyay. Voting for this was held on Sunday while the result got published recently.
In Udayapur district, Himal Karki has been elected district president of NC by receiving 676 votes. His contender Bidur Basnet got 589 votes. Most of the other posts were also secured by the leaders of Karki panel.
