Kathmandu, Dec.5: Nepali Congress has expressed its concerns over the public land acquisition process and distribution of compensation in the Budhi Gandaki Hydropower Project.
During the term of the earlier government led by the Congress, a team of Dr. Swarnim Wagle had decided to construct the 1200MW project by on its own, said a statement issued by NC spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma on Thursday.
But the current government, instead of completing the project in time, has invested resources on unnecessary items, it said
The government has failed to take the people into confidence in the project, it said.
“The present government has been working against the public interest,” read the statement.
