Kathmandu, Dec. 3: Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Devendra Poudel, has urged the Sudurpaschim University to carry out research and studies to identify potential of bio-diversity, rich natural heritages and tourism in Sudurpaschim Province.
Addressing the ninth annual general assembly of the Sudurpaschim University on Friday, Minister Poudel stressed the university should give first priority to research-oriented, quality education and production of capable human resources.
Also the Pro-Chancellor of the University, Minister Poudel said that the government was committed to providing human and financial resources required for the University. The Education Minister further said, “The University should play major role to provide research-oriented education in an accessible manner as per the need and demand.”
Saying the human resources produced from the universities of the country have become competitive and reached leading positions even in the international levels, he suggested the universities to keep production of further capable human resources.
Minister Poudel also argued the strong administrative and organizational leadership, transparency and accountability are indispensable for the prosperity and success of any university.
