By Lucky Chaudhari, Kathmandu, Sept. 4: Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Basant Kumar Nembang has stayed in home quarantine as a high ranking officer of his ministry tested positive for COVID-19.
Minister Nembang did not participate in today's meeting of the Council of Ministers, according to the minister's secretariat.
A high ranking officer of the ministry had tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday.
Swabs of the minister, officers and employees of the ministry, secretariat member of the ministers, his security team was collected today for PCR test, according to Minister Nembang's media expert Sandip Rai.
Swabs of some of high ranking officers of the ministry were collected for testing on Monday where a high ranking officers was found infected with SARS-CoV-2 that causes COVID-19.
The officer is said to be under treatment at a private hospital.
