Kathmandu, Nov. 19: Balkrishna Khand and the US Assistant Secretary for Foreign Affairs Donlad Lu had a courtesy meeting on Friday.
In a meeting at the Home Ministry, matters related to the bilateral relations and partnership between Nepal and the US were discussed, shared the Home Ministry secretariat.
The two ministers held a discussion on the collaboration during the COVID-19 pandemic, Nepal’s development priorities, and the US assistance to Nepal’s social and economic development, among others.
On the occasion, US Assistant Secretary Lu was accompanied by the US Ambassador to Nepal, Randy Berry. Also discussed during the meet was the impact of climate change on Nepal’s economy and future resolving measures to that end.
Minster Khand had extended gratitude to the US for its support to Nepal in the fight against COVID-19. He also expressed his confidence that the US assistance would flow for the post-COVID economic recovery.
Minister Khand also thanked the Assistant Secretary for his visit to Nepal and hoped that the visit would bring Nepal-US relations to a new height.
