Rukum (East), Jan 12 : The needy people in Sisne Rural Municipality-1 in East Rukum have received the specialist health care service in their doorsteps for the first time.
Chief Minister Rural and Employment Programme extended the financial support and a local polyclinic made technical assistance to conduct a two-day medical camp in the remote village of Bhattedanda of Sisne.
Coordinator of Programme Leelamani Gautam said that more than 220 needy people, mostly the women, received the health care services.
Gautam shared that the service seekers were provided with video x-ray service and different checkups including blood, diabetes and others.
Likewise, nine women having uterus-related issues have been referred to Nepalgunj where they were will receive treatment for free.
Similarly, two individuals tested positive for HIV and one with hepatitis. They have been referred to East Rukum District Hospital.
Doctors involved in the medical camp said that most of the cases in the camp were of uterus prolapsed.
Gynecologist Ram Kumar Das, general physician Arbinda Kumar Yadav and other medical practitioners offered health care services to the needy, Chairwoman of Sisne Rural Municipality Kumari Baral said.
