By A Staff Reporter, Kathmandu, Jul 22: On July 17, the Metropolitan Crime Division lodged a missing report of 30-year-old Shakti Raj Regmi, a resident from Ward 4 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
Regmi had been missing since July 8 due to which there were suspicion that he might have been kidnapped. Regmi had left the house at around 6 am in the morning and went out of contact.
As the division begun its investigation and intensified its search, the division found Regmi with a girl at a room of Sugandha Hotel in New Buspark on Tuesday night.
When the police found out Regmi and asked about the scenario, he revealed that he was faking his kidnapping to hide from his money lenders.
“Regmi had borrowed millions of rupees from many individuals faking that he worked at real state. He faked his kidnapping so that he would not have to return the money,” reads the statement issued by Superintendent of Police Ishwar Karki, spokesperson of the division.
As per the division, it has begun the process to take legal action against Regmi for wasting the time of law enforcement agency and nation’s resources.
