Jaleshwor, Dec 27 : Central, western and southern parts in Mahottari district including the district headquarters Jaleshwor have not witnessed sunshine for the past 11 days.
With this people are compelled to endure biting cold.
Adverse seasonal weather featured by cold wave, chilling cold, thick fog and mist since December 17 has thrown the normal life out of gear. It has its implications on livestock and winter crops as well. People are unable to carry on daily activities owing to unfavourable weather.
Children and aged people have started falling sick.
Winter crops and vegetables have started getting damaged in the field, farmers said. People's movement in public places has gone down.
However, the adverse weather has increased the market for winter and woolen garments as its sale has increased. Health centers based in the district are dealing with an increased flow of patients, doctors said.
