Kathmandu, Nov. 5: On the occasion of the 113th birth anniversary of Maha Kavi Laxmi Prasad Devkota, Nagarjun Literary Foundation organized a literary seminar on Thursday in Kathmandu.
During the event, poets and critics shed light on Devkota’s personality and recited Devkota’s poems too.
Putting forth his opinion, critic Badri Bishal Pokharel said that the new generation is required to deeply read and understand the poet laureate. Pokharel viewed that the difficult times realized by Devkota including stalled payment for seven months from the
Nepal Academy for writing for people should be revealed.
Poets Shiva Prasad Acharya, Bairagi Jetha, Prakash Silwal, Chetnath Dhamala, Madhav Nirdosh, Yeshoda Adhikari, Shiva Hari Pandey and others recited their poems at the programme.
Likewise, a five-member Committee was announced under the leadership of Bairagi Jetha for organizing the convention of Nagarjun Literary Foundation
