Kathmandu, Nov. 30: The government has decided to manage free medical treatment to all those injured in different popular political movements, the armed insurgency and the Madhes movements.
"Although various decisions in this regard were taken earlier, the government has once again decided to provide free treatment to those injured people who were earlier unable to receive such treatment due to various reasons," Minister Parbat Gurung said on Sunday.
They will receive free treatment in government hospitals.
The decision in this regard was made as per the Cabinet decision held on November 25, according to Minister Gurung.
Likewise, the Cabinet meeting held on November 22 decided to form a 13-member delegation team led by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to participate and address a special session of the United Nations on the issue of coronavirus pandemic on December 3 and 4.
Credentials to this regard would be sent to New York and Amrit Bahadur Rai, Permanent Representative of Nepal to the United Nations, was given consent to arrange necessary works there, according to Minister Gurung.
The Cabinet meeting held on November 22 also transferred 12 joint attorneys, including Gopichandra Bhattarai.
Minister Gurung said the Cabinet meeting held on November 25 decided to accept three Mercedes Benz cars of model No. E180 to be provided by the Qatar government as a gift to Nepal. The cars will be brought into use by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to Minister Gurung.
Similarly, the government decided to repatriate Mauritius citizen Rahul Punchoo for illegally staying in Nepal by waiving Rs. 25,000 as a fine.
The government has also given permission to form a committee for taking part in the Joint Secretary-level Nepal-India Commerce Inter-government Sub Committee meeting to be held on December 3 and 4, and another Nepal-India Commerce Secretary-level Inter-government Committee meeting to be held on December 7.
Likewise, the Cabinet meeting endorsed the Social Security Fund Investment Procedure, 2020, and promoted Nepali Army's Colonel Ganesh Singh Bhandari and Lt. Colonel Ram Bahadur Aryal of the Account Division.
The government had also promoted three joint secretaries, Gokarna Mani Duwadi of Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Dr. Yogendra Kumar Karki of Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development and Suresh Acharya of Nepal Engineering service as secretaries of the government.
