Kathmandu, Feb. 9: Gorkhapatra employee, Laxmi Khatiwada Sigdel, sub-editor of monthly child magazine Muna, has been awarded with Eden Journalism Award of Eden Bridge School, Dhapasi.
Khatiwada was awarded for her contribution to children education through the child magazine.
She has been awarded with Rs. 10,000 cash prize and certificate on Saturday at the annual function of the school.
Khatiwada declared to provide the amount of the prize to students of Dasharath Chand Primary School of Dasharath Chandra Rural Municipality-4, Baitadi. Khatiwada decided to give the amount to the students there for their stationery support.
The far west primary school is in operation for over 100 years. All children in the school belong to the Haliya community, whose socio-economic status is very poor.
