Chitwan, Nov. 22: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal has said that the irrigation system of the country should be improved.
Inaugurating the Bharatpur office of the Chitwan Underground Water Irrigation Project here today, she said that agriculture was an important contributor to the economy and irrigation was an important part of it.
Directing the authorities to work in a way that facilitates the farmers, Minister Bhusal said that the policy of the government is to irrigate the cultivable land, through surface or underground sources.
Director General of the Department of Irrigation Sushil Chandra Acharya shared about the works to be carried out by the office. The farmers of the district are expected to directly benefit with the opening of the office in Bharatpur.
