Madhyapur Thimi, Nov 19 (RSS):
Works have begun to install solar lamps along the section of Araniko Highway from Jadibuti Monohara Bridge to Radhe Radhe of Madhyapur Thimi.
The installation of solar panel lights is meant for supporting the slogan for ' Bright, clean and green Bhaktapur'.
The area (from Monohara to Radhe Radhe) will have 421 solar lights. It is supported by the Madhyapur Thimi municipality.
Cost of installing a solar light is around Rs 100 thousand. Besides, the segment will also have traffic island and a direction board which will be for minimising the occurrence of road accidents.
A team comprising lawmaker Mahesh Basnet and Madhyapur Thimi municipality mayor Madan Sundar Shrestha today inspected the installation works.
On the occasion, the lawmaker said the solar lights would contribute to the minimization of road accident mainly during night times.
