By Gopi Gyawali, Nawalparasi, Nov. 8: The Indian border security, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), personnel have illegally entered the Nepali territory with arms and ammunition at Susta in Susta Rural Municipality of West Nawalparasi district.

Chief of Susta Rural Municipality Ram Prasad Pande informed that a squad of the SSB came from an area of Susta where there is a dispute between Nepal and India and entered Nepali territory in Susta illegally and then they took a measure of the area with a tape on Sunday.

Kailan Harijan, a local of Susta, confirmed that the SSB team entered Nepali territory without any authority and with the use of tape, measured the land on the side of Nepal. They also used drones for the purpose.

The SSB personnel were 12 in number and they crossed the suspension bridge and entered over 150 meters into the Nepali land for measuring the area.

The locals informed the security post at Susta about the incident as the SSB entered Nepal and started measuring the area.

However, the security agency on the side of Nepal dillydallied to respond to the SSB saying they had to inform the higher authority and when the Nepali security personnel reached the area, the Indian SSB personnel had already left the place.

Dharmendra Kumar Mishra, chief district officer of the West Nawalparasi, said that a team of district security agency along with himself was heading for Susta to take stock of the situation as the entry of the SSB into Nepali territory had to be confirmed although the locals had informed that the SSB entered the Nepali territory.

The locals at Susta are terrified because the SSB had mapped the area last year with the use of a drone and this time they even entered the area carrying scale and tape to measure along with a register book. Some locals deplored that the Nepali side did not protest the unlawful act of the SSB in time.
