Rukum, Dec 22: A Nepal Airlines plane has remained stuck at the Salle Airport in Musikot of Rukum district due to the bad weather. The plane was schedule to fly to Nepalgunj from Rukum on Sunday.
The passengers were stranded at the airport waiting for the flight to take off. Gyanendra Khanal, In-charge Nepal Airlines Rukum said that 15 passengers had booked tickets to Nepalgunj on Sunday.
Meanwhile, due to the heavy fog no schedule flight took off on Sunday from Ranjha Airport in Nepalgunj.
Due to the poor visibility, it was not possible for any air flight to take off from the airport. According to the airport all the flights to hilly districts and capital city were halted due to poor weather.
Deputy Manager of the airport tower Bishnu Adhikari said that all the flights were cancelled due to the invisibility.
Most of the passengers were cancelling their plane ticket and were reaching their destination by buses.
Likewise in Bhairahawa, all flights to and from the Gautam Budhha Airport have been halted for two days. Due to the lack of required visibility, the air services has come to total halt.
Around 12 flights were cancelled in the airport in two days.
The visibility was only six hundred meters whereat it needs at least 1600 meters of visibility for a aircraft to take off.
Though the weather of Kathmandu and hilly districts have cleared from the early morning, Terai districts are full thick foggy condition as cold wave has swept the region.
Due to the unfavourable weather in the Terai districts, the flights across the nation have affected adversely.
