Chandrota, Feb 7 : State-5 Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Forest and Environment has put conservation of historical, religious and tourism area Shivagadhi of Kapilvastu on top priority.
The Ministry has appropriated necessary budget for this. State-5 Minister for Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment Leela Giri on Thursday made onsite inspection of the area and informed that the historical place will be developed as a tourism site.
One can reach Shivagadhi after two hours of trekking from Shivaraj municipality-1, Dhankhola. The scenic beauty of the area has high potentials to draw tourists. This is believed to be a historical citadel constructed to fight against the British Empire.
Minister Giri shared that the state government has floated a plan to construct a trekking route to reach Swargadwari of Pyuthan, Supadeurali of Arghakhanchi and Ridi of Gulmi from Shivagadhi and develop a corridor of tourism sites.
Chairperson of State Industry Tourism Committee Dadhiram Neupane highlighted the need to create environment for tourists to see the historical sites of Kapilvastu.
