Sindhupalchowk, Aug 6 : Helambu Highway in Sindhupalchowk district has been disrupted following a landslide triggered by the incessant rains.
The landslide caused by the flooded Indrawati River at Thado Pahira of Phatakshila at Zero Kilo of Melamchi municipality -13 has blocked the highway since 6:50 am today.
The river made the 20 metres of highway segment towards Melamchi to fall down. The highway has remained totally disrupted since the incident, District Police Office, Sindhupalchowk said.
Area Police Office, Melamchi's Police Inspector Tikaram Rai said efforts were on to open an alternative route for the convenience of travelers en route to Melamchi from Kathmandu and vice-versa.
