Kathmandu, Mar. 29: The Kathmandu Valley and various other hilly areas of the country remained hazy on Monday with light rainfall in some places.
According to Hira Bhattarai, a meteorologist at the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, it has been raining sporadically in some parts of Kathmandu. He said that there is a possibility of rainfall in other hilly areas as well. The weather will clear from Thursday.
"Currently the country has the influence of the western low-pressure system and there is also an effect of local winds, so there might be clouds with light rainfall for a couple of days," Bhattarai said.
With this influence, there is a possibility of thunder, lightning and wind in some parts of Bagmati, Province 1 and Gandaki, he said.
According to meteorologist Bhattarai, the weather in Kathmandu Valley has become unclear due to the accumulation of wind, smoke and dust particles in the atmosphere.
He said that there is a possibility of cloudy weather and rain in the morning and afternoon on Tuesday and Wednesday as well.
According to the DHM, there will be partial to moderate cloud cover in the hilly areas of Province 1, Bagmati Province and Gandaki Province.
