Kathmandu, Aug 8: An all-party delegation has met with Chairman of CPN (Maoist Centre) Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' and drew his attention to a huge loss caused by the floods in Melamchi and Helambu areas of Sindhupalchowk district.
The delegation informed Chairman Prachanda about the immediate need for infrastructures in the disaster-hit areas. Chairman Prachanda responded to the delegation that he took the issues seriously and would take these to further discussion.
Maoist Centre leader Subodh Sapkota informed that the former prime minister Prachanda assured that he would prod the government to take initiative to resolve the problems faced by those who suffered worst in the floods and landslides in Melamchi and Helambu.
"Now, the links of increasing natural disasters in the country can be tracked to global development model," Chairman Prachanda said, adding that internal study and management is equally important.
Chairman Prachanda further viewed that such pressing issues of climate crisis in the Himalayan country could be raised even in the global forums.
