By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Mar. 10: The Government of Nepal has suspended providing labour permit for migrant Nepali workers bound to Qatar following the Gulf country's decision to ban entry of citizens of different 14 countries including Nepal.
Kumar Dahal, director general of Foreign Employment Department, said on Tuesday that the labour permit for Nepali nationals going to Qatar was closed for the time being as Qatar had restricted entry to Nepalis in Qatar to prevent spread of COVID-19.
Dahal said that about four thousand Nepalis had already taken labour permit to fly to Qatar this month. About four hundred thousand Nepalis are estimated to be working in Qatar.
