Kathmandu, Oct. 5: The Ministry of Home Affairs Monday formed a province-level market monitoring team led by a joint secretary in all seven provinces to make the market monitoring more effective during the festive season.
The Ministry formed the teams to solve the immediate problems by monitoring markets in all the provinces with the objective of making the monitoring more effective during the festivals and making the services including security, supply, market management and transportation accessible to all people.
Issuing a press statement, Joint Secretary and Spokesperson for the Ministry Phanindra Mani Pokhrel said that security, transportation, supply and market management and other services are being monitored by the concerned agencies across the country to make the services free and effective.
The Ministry has stated that the market is being monitored under the coordination of the Assistant Chief District Officer by delegating authority from the Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection as per the Article 32 of the Consumer Protection Act 2075 and Rule 18 of the Consumer Protection Rules 2056.
