By Shailendra Rokaya, Bajhang, Aug. 4: Road transport between Chainpur and Surma Rural Municipality has been cut off as the Bahuli River flood crumbled down parts of Chainpur-Surma road.
The flood has damaged the road that goes along the river at multiple points from Sela Khet to Baril waterfall.
The road that links Surma with Chainpur has been washed entirely away without keeping any trace of the road, said Chakra Bohara, a local of ward 4 of the rural municipality, adding, the river flows now in the place where there was the road.
Nar Bahadur Bohara, Chairman of the Surma rural municipality, said efforts will be made to open the track once the water level abates in the river. "Even opening a track is risky and it needs a lot of investment."
The road was operational for the last five years.
