Myagdi, July 7 : One died and another went missing in a flood that took place in Malika rural municipality-6, Ratodhunga of Myagdi district on Wednesday morning.
The swollen Myagdi rivulet flowing through Managala rural municipality-5 had taken away the house of Khagendra Roka. Malika-6 ward chairperson Santosh Subedi shared that the flood took away Khagendra’s son Bajin and daughter-in-law Bina when they were asleep inside the house.
Bajin’s lifeless body was found while Bina went missing in the rivulet, ward chair Subedi further informed.
Police personnel from the Area Police Office Darwang, people’s representatives and locals have ramped up the search and rescue efforts.
The flood-fed rivulet has caused damages to another house in the rural municipality. It has also posed a serious threat to the Ratodhunga settlement, under-construction sub-station having 32/11 KV capacity and hundred hectares of fertile land.
Police Inspector of Area Police Office Darwang, Santosh Poudel said they have engaged their efforts in collecting details of loss and damage, searching for the missing and rescuing the vulnerable households.
