Kathmandu, Jan. 10: Three persons were injured when a fire that broke out in Ward No. 10 of Budhanilkantha Municipality on Saturday while changing a LPG cylinder.
On Friday, Anju Pariyar, a 43-year-old, died by a fire which broke out in a pile of hay in front of her house in Ward No. 4 of Jantedhunga Rural Municipality, Khotang district.


Likewise, 45-year-old Sarad Rajbanshi died after a LPG cylinder exploded while extinguishing a fire in Ward No. 7 of Mechinagar Municipality, Jhapa, on January 5. Around a dozen others were injured.
Fire incidents have, of late, become common across the country and negligence and accidents being the two major reasons.

Officials at the Disaster Management Authority informed that people were less aware regarding the causes of fire and many places lacked proper infrastructure to extinguish the fire.
According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), 45 people have died while 242 others have been injured until Saturday in the first nine months of 2078 Bikram Sambat.

In the nine months, 1,493 incidents of fire were reported from across the country.
Property worth around Rs. 1.5 billion has been destroyed by the fire during the period.

Authorities like NDRRMA have also been generating awareness digitally and physically to make people aware about fire incidents and its prevention and control.
According to experts, people are requested to use LPG cylinder, firewood and heating equipment carefully.
Local levels have also been suggested managing fire extinguishing capability.
